Earth Dog	Rally-O	Obedience	Agility

The club encourages and supports participation in performance events. Interested owners of companion Fox Terriers may also find these activities a fun way to connect with their dogs and to build the bond between themselves and their canine companions. 

While Rally, Obedience and Agility classes are usually offered at local training facilities, you may have to search further to find Earth Dog training which is done primarily by Terriers.  Just for fun, test your knowledge of Earth Dog activities through this website. Even if you are totally new to the sport, you'll enjoy learning the "ins and outs" of this sport for your Smooth or Wire Fox Terrier!

Both the Smooth and the Wire Fox Terrier are agile little dogs very capable of doing agility. However, both you and your instructor should combine  patience and positive training with a good sense of humor. A pocketful of really yummy treats goes a long way too. Don't get discouraged if that Golden Retriever or Border Collie catches on faster than your dog. Remember that Fox Terriers were bred to work independently, not in partnership with humans. Your Terrier usually understands exactly what you want him to do.  He just needs you to provide the right motivation for him to comply! Agility can be something fun for you and your dog whether you decide to do it at a competitive level or not.
