Our History:
The
Western Fox Terrier Breeders Association was founded in 1907 shortly after the
great San Francisco fire by Walter W. Stettheimer and Irving C. Ackerman.
In June, 2007,
WFTBA celebrated its centennial anniversary. It's probably safe to assume
that the founders of the club never imagined their organization would endure for
100 years or become the vibrant breed club it is today, but that's exactly what
has happened thanks to the strong commitment of the club members of the past,
present and, hopefully, those of the next 100 years.
The WFTBA has changed very little from it's beginnings. The club's
objectives are the same today as they were in 1907, that being to promote and
steward the Fox Terrier. The bridge between decades has always been the
strong commitment of our members", she said. "This dedication
has played a vital role in keeping the WFTBA as one of the premier breed clubs
in the country".
